Social Mission

WEDO GLOBAL is a social enterprise advocating multicultural education. We train, employ and empower ethnic minorities to become cultural ambassadors. Through organizing multi-cultural training, tours and workshops, WEDO GLOBAL becomes a platform to connect Chinese and ethnic minorities, facilitate mutual understanding and effectively reduce negative perceptions and racial discrimination to achieve social inclusion.

 

Business Model

The revenue streams of WEDO GLOBAL are mainly from experiential learning activities.

Participants pay for:

  1. Multicultural tours
  2. Workshops and training
  3. Overseas cultural experience

These help to bridge the cultural gap, facilitate interactions, and mutual learning as well as understanding in this globalized world.

 

Founding Team

Bosco Ng, Founder. Bosco had acquired extensive experience in cross-cultural communication and management before he started his journey in social entrepreneurship. He was the representative of Hong Kong to participate in the Youth Peace Network program in Canada, together with 18 leaders from 17 countries. In 2017, he was awarded the Hong Kong Youth Service Award 2017 because of his dedication and achievement towards racial harmony. He is currently the member of the Advisory Committee on Racial Equality and Integration, and the Working Group on Education for Ethnic Minorities at the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC).

Eva Wong, Co-Founder. Eva gained experience in education and the social enterprise field. In 2017, she completed an Executive Program in Social Entrepreneurship at Stanford Graduate School of Business. Currently, she is a member of the Commission on Poverty, Social Enterprise Advisory Committee, Social Welfare Advisory Committee, and Taskforce member of the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund of the HKSAR Government.

 

Social Impact

Participant number:

  • Since 2014, over 18,000 people participated in our multi-cultural activities, with over 300 multi-cultural tours, 100 multi-cultural workshops and 15 overseas cultural experience have been organized have been organized. They are from over 120 schools and 30 corporates and organizations.

Participant feedback:

  • Over 90% agreed that their understanding towards ethnic minorities has been enhanced
  • On average, each participant achieves 60% increase in their understanding towards ethnic minorities after joining WEDO GLOBAL’s multi-cultural activities

Number of ethnic minorities who participated in training:

  • Over 90 ethnic minorities from different ethnic groups, such as Pakistan, India, Nepal
  • Around 14 ethnic minorities have been recruited as our cultural ambassadors
  • They have expanded their confidence, social network and enhanced work skills

Proposed Project for Students 

  1. The collaboration with the Hong Kong Tourism Board to diversify the existing target audience and services, as well as create more job opportunities for ethnic minorities which can utilize their strengths and skills.
  2. Develop marketing strategies to promote Cultural Intelligence (CQ), Cultural sensitivity training in the corporate sector.
  • Analyze potential target markets
  • Analyze potential competitors and their marketing strategies
  • Prepare a proposal for implementation strategies, marketing strategies with potential partners
  • Propose a budget plan for 6-month implementation
