Social Mission
Under Production (UP) founded in 2015, is a social enterprise platform that offers young and passionate people real job opportunities in 5 business segments:
- Video production
- Book publishing
- Graphic design
- Music production
- Social media marketing
UP wants to empower passionate young people and provide a platform for real job experience in the creative industry and social projects. UP will also identify and assist youths who are entrepreneurial to run their own social businesses.
Business Model
UP is a marketing agent who provides services for clients on multi-media production. We receive sales order and payment from all kinds of clients who need marketing services. UP as a project manager recruits young talents from a pool of student freelancers developed by UP, with different skills that suit the job requirement. We provide guidance to student freelancers, communicate with clients and assure that all quality and timelines are met. UP pays the student freelancers according to their work and experience which match the market price, and UP earns the net profit as a project management fee.
For example an initiative of publishing a book about HK local social workers’ stories.
UP helps to 1) recruit 10 University student reporters (Communication or Chinese major) to interview social workers and write up articles for the book, 2) provide training and support in articles editing and interview skills, and 3) handle the communication between reporters and clients.
These projects help students built their portfolio, receive training and gain experience.
