Deep Health

Social Mission

The setup of DeepHealth originated from an interdisciplinary public health research team at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).  DeepHealth aims to promote knowledge transfer from academic findings into services and products to improve population health with the use of digital platforms and data technology, thus bringing smarter work, smarter health, and smarter life to all walks of life in society.

Business Model

The revenue model is generated by bridging the gaps among healthcare providers, patients, and researchers. Patients can enhance health awareness by better self-management while healthcare providers can save consultation time, enhance healthcare quality and efficiency. Researchers can utilize the data collected from digital platforms to generate health knowledge to serve the community.

Social Impact

DeepHealth offers affordable digital health monitoring solutions to the public for continuous health monitoring with the aim of improving self-literacy of health and providing additional health information to healthcare providers to yield better care services. HealthCap, a health monitoring mobile application, was launched in May 2019. It serves as the technical support on blood pressure measurement of the May Measurement Month Campaign in Hong Kong. This campaign aimed at promoting hypertension management in the community. More than 200 people recorded their blood pressure with HealthCap and screened for the risk of hypertension. Feedback from active users indicates that HealthCap encourages active daily measurement of blood pressure since the application offers a convenient way of data logging through photo capture.
