Social Impact

Elderly

According to the Food and Health Department’s 2013/14 survey, the annual local health expenditure for each person amounted to HK$17,288, an average annual increase of 6%. In 2018/9, the local health expenditure per person reached HK$23,135. The use of STICKu will help the elderly to reduce accidents and is expected to save 30% on medical expenses, up to nearly HK$7,000.

Caregiver

We will take the median average income of Hong Kong (HK$18,000) and expect to spend 9 hours of work per day for 5 days a week, resulting in a one-hour time cost. It is also expected that STICKu will allow caregivers to work with peace of mind and save up to 4 hours per day(960 hours per year) without the need of taking care of the user. Therefore, the impact on the productivity of caregivers is calculated as follows: $18,000/(5*4*9) * 960 = $96,000

It is estimated that the user’s family can save HK$96,000 per annum and time. If you use STICKu, you can use the app’s statistics to know the user’s physical condition, improve the family’s psychological quality and feel more intangible benefits. The benefits that STICKu brings to each caregiver will be more than HK$100,000.

Society

It is expected that social medical expenditure will be relatively reduced due to the decrease in the number of falls after the elderly using STICKu. Anticipated that hospital needs 15-30 days and needs frontline medical staff and nurses to take care of the patients. The reduction in elderly fractures after the usage of STICKu will help the hospital to re-allocate staff, provide better medical services for other patients and reduce psychological stress.
