In class, students learn about local and global best practices through lectures, case studies and experience sharing by industry guest speakers. Outside of class, students work in teams to apply their learnings through consulting projects to help innovative social enterprises scale-up their work to address pressing social issues in Hong Kong.

Going beyond the scope of traditional university courses in entrepreneurship, “Nurturing Social Minds” brings into focus the social impact and responsibility of business and the opportunity to use business skills to create greater social impact while building sustainable and innovative businesses.

We are seeing tremendous interest and a strong desire among our young people to leverage their skills and creative juices to address social issues. The vision and actions of our passionate and dedicated social entrepreneurs have lit a fire under our students, opened their hearts and minds and moved them from observers to doers.

The biggest reward that I received from teaching this course was seeing how it changed and inspired my students. The course has made them more mindful and compassionate, more aware of what’s going on around them. They don’t just want to be passive observers in society. Now they’re thinking, “How can I help make this world a better place?”
